DescriptionThe Retreat for Women in Applied Mathematics 2026 (RWAM 2026) is a five-day retreat for female applied mathematicians (or people who identify as female) from all career stages (PhD, postdoc, junior or senior faculty), generally working in the field of mathematical modelling across the physical sciences, biology and engineering. Additional ItemsMore InformationThe programme will feature plenary/keynote research talks; contributed research talks; a poster session along with roundtables on ECR issues; EDI in mathematics; research funding; knowledge exchange in mathematics and international perspectives on under-represented groups in mathematics. The objectives of RWAM 2026 remain the same as those of RWAM 2023, 2024 and 2025, namely, to create a sense of community and a unified forum for sharing information about scientific opportunities, funding, teaching and career progression amongst female applied mathematicians in the UK and beyond. Prior successes include, but are not limited to, a popular Women in Applied Mathematics Mentoring Scheme, a forthcoming special issue of “La Matematica”, global versions of the RWAM event at the Vietnam Institute for Advanced Studies in Mathematics and AIMS Senegal and successful network grant applications etc. Payment to be made after you have been accepted as a participant only.
