More InformationOVERVIEW The IADRA course combines a mixture of pre-recorded lectures delivered by experts in the field of administrative data research, alongside a series of practical sessions using synthetic data from the Scottish Longitudinal Study. The practical exercises will provide opportunity to gain hands-on experience using R to manipulate and analyse a complex administrative dataset in R. DELIVERY The course will run online for four weeks beginning Monday 2nd March through to Friday 27th March 2026:
Course materials will be made available via Microsoft Teams/Sharepoint and participants will be given access to course materials at the start of each week. Materials include links to recorded lectures, handouts and other online resources. Materials for the weekly practical exercises will be accessed via a dedicated IADRA R-Studio server, and will allow participants to apply and practice the techniques learned in the course. Participants may work through the course materials and information in their own time independently. However, there will be a live practical lab session on Teams each week, where participants can work through the practical exercises during the session with support from experienced tutors. The course will also include weekly ‘Meet the researcher’ Q&A sessions, where participants will be able to meet and ask questions about conducting admin data research to a selection of experienced researchers.
