All imaging techniques have advantages and disadvantages and all are potentially hazardous to the operator or individual being scanned unless operated correctly. In some cases, there are strict rules and regulations to be followed an operators have to have professional qualifications, but in others the rules are less strict. If you come from a non-clinical background you will likely not be aware of these important points. The aims of this course are to make sure that you are thoroughly familiar with the potential hazards, contraindications and safe operating practices for each type of imaging, but particularly magnetic resonance, health and safety issues, the principals of ethics for neuroimaging research and good clinical practice.
