2nd Workshop on Codon Usage: Function, Mechanism and Evolution

2nd Workshop on Codon Usage: Function, Mechanism and Evolution

Description

Codon usage bias, the preference for certain synonymous codons is a feature of all genomes. Although synonymous mutations were once thought to be silent, recent studies indicate that codon usage affects gene expression and protein structures through multiple mechanisms. The conference will focus on codon usage functions in gene expression, mRNA stability, transcription, translation initiation, elongation rates, translation efficiency, co-translational protein folding, fitness, genome evolution, computational modeling, applications and other related subjects. It will bring together a broad selection of key scientists from around the globe working to understand the myriad ways that codon usage bias influences biology.
