Postcards from the Anthropocene: Unsettling the Geopolitics of Representation
By bringing together scholars, practitioners, artists and students from a wide range of disciplines, ranging from political theory and philosophy to geography, art and architecture, this symposium will set up the stage for possibilities of networking and collaborations and contribute to meaningful discussion. Invited keynote speakers include high-profile academics with international reputation and substantial public-impact. The event aims at gathering high-quality academic papers as well as participatory, mixed-media submissions of images and audio-files that will feed into a small parallel exhibition.
The symposium, including presentations of academic papers and the small exhibition, will be further developed into an edited and peer-reviewed book, thus contributing to the expansion of academic- and public-impact and knowledge dissemination. We expect the book to become an interactive record of provocative propositions of tools, methods and techniques within the theoretical and practical dimensions of representation.
